More Inclusive Facilities for Northcote

Women and girls in Northcote will enjoy new facilities at the Deep Rock Sporting Precinct, thanks to a re-elected Andrews Labor Government.

We’ll invest $1 million so that women and girls can participate equally and more fully at local sporting grounds around the precinct. This investment will upgrade the existing pavilion at the end of Deep Rock Road in Yarra Bend Park, to provide modern, accessible, and female-friendly change rooms and usable social spaces.

Community sport is the lifeblood of so many suburbs, bringing families together through a shared love of sport.

Local clubs work hard to fundraise for better facilities for their teams but as more people struggle to make ends meet clubs may not be able to rely on the generosity of their members.

That’s why the Labor Government is backing local sports clubs and families to deliver better sports grounds and facilities.

We have invested more than $1.6 billion to upgrade and improve local recreation reserves and sports grounds – making them better for local families.

We’ve delivered better courts and grounds, new scoreboards, lighting upgrades and changing facilities for clubs in every corner of the state.

Only Labor will deliver more female-friendly facilities for Northcote, looking after the needs of local families and allowing everybody the chance to participate in the sports they love.
