EVERYONE DESERVES ACCESS TO SAFE AND SECURE HOUSING.
The Andrews Labor Government’s is transforming our social housing system by delivering the largest single increase and largest-ever investment in social and affordable housing in Victoria’s history through our Big Housing Build.
This $5.3 billion investment will deliver 12,000 new homes and support around 10,000 jobs per year over the next four years – changing many lives for the better, now and into the future.
As your local MP, I want to see more quality social housing in our suburbs, and I am working to make sure our community sees the benefits of this record investment.
Project Status: Completed
In partnership with Unison Housing, the Victorian Government has transformed a 22-bedroom rooming house in Fairfield into 38 modern self-contained units for vulnerable women. These modern studio and one-bedroom apartments are not just a roof over the heads of women at risk of homelessness. They are safe and secure homes from which to build opportunity and aspiration.
The project has been made possible with a $3.3 million contribution from the Andrews Labor Government.

NORTHCOTE & PRESTON HOUSING RENEWAL PROJECTS
Project Status: Underway
The Victorian Government is redeveloping sites at Walker Street in Northcote and Oakover Road in Preston to deliver more and improved social and affordable housing in our suburbs.
These projects are transforming aged and dilapidated public housing sites into modern, accessible, environmentally friendly homes our social housing tenants need and deserve. The projects will also include shared community spaces, open and green spaces and on-site services.
As your local MP, I have been working hard to ensure our local social housing projects deliver the best environmental outcomes.
Working closely with local residents, Homes Victoria and developers MAB, I have recently secured completely gas-free builds at Homes Victoria Housing Renewal Projects at Walker Street in Northcote and Oakover Road in Preston. These sites will be delivered with a 5-star Green Star rating and a 7-star NatHERS average rating.
