As students returned to face-to-face learning in term 4, at Northcote Primary they had an extra reason to enjoy being back to school.
The Andrews Labor Government funded a $3.16 million modernisation of the schools main building including giving it a brand new entrance. And the new facilities are now ready to go.
But as works were undertaken a very precious surprise was discovered. As workers carried out destruction works in preparation of the refurbishment they discovered the original chalkboards were adorned with hand drawn artworks.
Thankfully the artworks have been saved and are once again enjoyed by Northcote Primary School Students - 60 years on!
