STUDENTS TO BENEFIT FROM CLASSROOM ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS
The Andrews Labor Government is investing more than $7.5 million into Victorian not-for-profit organisations to deliver innovative educational programs that enrich the learning experience of students across the state.
Member for Northcote, Kat Theophanous, today announced five local organisations are among almost 80 organisations to receive a share of the funding. The funding will deliver student learning programs that are not normally available in traditional classroom settings and teacher professional learning programs to enhance student outcomes.
The programs involve some of Victoria’s strongest education organisations.
Local recipients include Gertrude Contemporary, the Islamic Museum of Australia, the Modern Language Teachers Association of Victoria, Speak Percussion and the Victorian Association for Philosophy in Schools.
They join well known organisations across the state such as the Footscray Community Arts Centre, Musica Viva, Mathematics Association Victoria, Parks Victoria and others across arts and culture, health and wellbeing, and STEM.
Programs align with one or more of the Victorian Curriculum learning areas and may include excursions or incursions that can be delivered face-to-face or online across metropolitan and/or regional areas.
Funded programs will support all Victorian students with exciting ways to learn, whether they excel at school or whether they are at risk of disengaging.
