SURVEY FOR BELL STREET BRIDGE IN COBURG
Road users in Melbourne’s north are being asked to have their say on safety upgrades made to the Bell Street Bridge in Coburg.
The 12-month post implementation review survey has been created for the community to provide feedback on how they use and have experienced the bridge since it was improved in early 2022.
The Andrews Labor Government introduced traffic calming treatments on the bridge between Nicholson Street and Elizabeth Street in early 2022 to improve safety in the area.
New line marking, that included dragon teeth-shaped and slow down messaging, was also installed between Nicholson Street and Elizabeth Street.
The dragon teeth line markings provide visual cues to encourage drivers to slow down and stay in the middle of their lane, away from the footpaths.
New and more visual pedestrian warning signs were also installed on the approach to the Bell Street bridge.
Community members who walk or bike ride on the Bell Street Bridge are encouraged to fill out the survey, however it is open to all road users. The survey will help inform future planning for the area.
The survey will open to the community for two weeks from Monday 24 April to Friday 5 May 2023.
